Chapter 3: Homecoming
GET TOUGH
I been home just one short year
And things, just are not the same
I don’t feel like I belong any more
It’s like everyone’s gone insane
My mother says I’m not her son
My father stands proud and tall
Get tough; we had it rough
Too, when we got our call
We didn’t cry, we didn’t whine
We fought too, so get over it lad
I try to get strong, I try to look up
Few things work and I’m so sad
Why is it so hard for me?
Maybe the moral truth lies here
That unlike our father’s war
We lost the war in Vietnam I fear
