Thanks to those who can no longer enjoy,
Husbands, wives, mothers, sisters, and the rest.
Alive they were before the war,
Now only their memories remain.
Kilometers just north of Saigon,
Silence abruptly arrived to their young lives.
Giving all they had to give,
In a moment’s notice they ceased to exist.
Victory, honor and respect now remains,
In solitude so many of us will tomorrow be.
No more hugs and kisses,
Gone forever our Sisters and Brothers rest.

Did they have to go so soon?
Answers we will never have.
Yesterday is now our past, and for them an eternal unknown.
