Sheila Williams ~ Singing Cloud: Sing Children, Sing the Prayers! Sing children, lift your voices to Creator tell Him of your Nation’s troubles, let go with all your heart, pour forth the beauty and the light.

Elders speak and give guidance, tell the children of the importance of keeping to our own traditions, to ask for wisdom daily, to reach out to Great Spirit.

Grandfather, open our minds and hearts, allow the ancients to touch us, give back to us our humble path of learning from the spirits of all things.

Remind us we are least within the Circle, though much loved we have a duty; teach us again to say our prayers in the proper ways of our ancestors.

Open your arms to Father Sky, hear our Mother Earth cry, ask for guidance from the four Grandfather Winds, face each one and show respect then offer tobacco for all creations.

Clear your mind and hear Creator, learn to listen for His whispers, as the sage and sweet grass burns speak to Him of your cares.

Ask first for wisdom and guidance, then blessings and healing for others, remember all you owe and think about what you do.

Remember to ask for help for the four legs, minerals, plants, and birds, for the ills done to our kin, show true honor to all and so to yourself.

Creator knows what it is you need; He waits only to see if you ask first for these things, self is last but still important please children, concur your egos.

Sing children, lift your voices to Creator, let your prayers rise to the winds, burn the sage, let the smoke remind you what it is you pray for!
