THE HOSPITAL

I went to Emergency with my daughter Sandy Anne.
I was not too well and held had my cane in my hand.
My second blood sugar read two point five.
And I was quite lucky to still be alive.

My potassium levels had reached 6 and at 7 one is dead.
It was fortunate that the experts came together instead.
So now I am on drugs and a specialized diet plan.
No sugar no salt no potassium – and especially no bran.

White bread and rice are the things that are nice.
And the small amounts diet will have to suffice.
100% of overweight diabetics have a real fatty liver.
And this should be a warning from me – I’m the giver.

Seven days in the hospital was an effect answer to self-abuse sin.
I was pleased to be home with my cats and my darling wife Lynne.
Thanks to Paula, and Marie and my daughter Sandy Anne.
They helped save the life of this old soldier man.
