ON A FEBRUARY DAY IN BRENTWOOD BAY

Billy Willbond: On a February Day in Brentwood BayA robin died near my front door
The temperature had dipped to minus four
Too long in cold, he froze, no doubt
He should have kept on moving South
He thought that here in Brentwood Bay
The ground stayed thawed each winter day
Cold nature caused wee bird to die
No more o’er Brentwood skies he’ll fly
In my mind’s eye he still flexes wing
Where Robin’s with the Angels sing
Red breasted friend of God does bring
A reminder of our Eternal Spring
