THE NEED FOR A WATER WELL
(Opening Poem for a Talk to Rotary)
We went to Kajiado with meds and a PTP
Little Joe and Kihara, went along with me
Meeting Maasai Hospital Staff and the other boys
later with our field worker, ICROSS Paul Ose Lasois

Maasai water donkey trains haul water 15 miles to the ICROSS dispensary at Lorngoswo Kajiado District, Maasailand. Empty-backed donkeys are always part of the train; these are the spares and the loads are switched half wayWe pass by water donkey trains
On the way to Lorngoswo
All are aware of the need care
This part of the drive was slow
When I speak to you this morning
There’s a tale I’d like to tell
It’s about some Maasai people
Who really need a well
These people have no water
The pump is long time broke
And that is quite a problem
For the suffering Maasai folk!!!
