In the deep dark recesses of my mind
that is where I often find

A vision again of that dying child
I am once again in the African wild
I visit orphans who have HIV and Aids
the pandemic rages! Is progress made?

Fat Canadians (yeah I’m one of them)
can make a difference if we would spend
Just one half of what we waste
it would probably feed the human race?

I guess that’s just too much to ask
some will say an impossible task?
Most shut their minds to that dying kid
Thinking of Santa, as most of us did!

We could all be Santa with very little loss
We could all write a cheque to assist ICROSS
