I LIVE FOUR BLOCKS AWAY FROM THIS HEAVENLY SPLENDOUR
I live four blocks away from this heavenly splendour –
The colours at BUTCHART’S turn, each November.
Like others who live in the midst of such beauty,
It’s overlooked by my Boomer Cap and Izzy Doll duty.
It is brought home to me by Doris McCallum from the East.
We should stop and see the beauty around us, at least.
I drive by the Gardens on my way to Greyhound bus depot.
Where the caps and dolls come in, in real steady flow.
Thank you for these pictures now I won’t have to stop.
I can continue to do pick-ups at the post office shop.
Visitors like cousin Jim Cody and my friend Tony Pahl.
Come from Australia, so I get to see and appreciate it all.

THANKS!
It was a beautiful summer Canadian day
When my cousin Billy drove us to the gardens
To see what flowers were on display.
Many gardens we have seen on our travels abroad,
But none could compare with what we saw that summers day.
We paid our entrance fee and walked through the gates,
Immediately we beheld the scent of the different blooms.
As we walked further in through blossoming trees
And blooming flowers the spectacle before us,
Seemed to us to be a little bit of heaven on earth.
The flowers seemed to say, sit on a seat and rest for a while,
Experience a bit of God’s holy gift to all man kind
For we all know that no beauty can be created,
With out God’s helping hand, and there are people on this earth,
Who God has endowed with a gift of love for all man kind,
So they radiate beauty and enjoy doing good.
Thanks to all the Canadians, where ever they may be
Who brought a little bit of heaven to earth.
And just in one moment in time, Irene and I,
Felt we were walking on sacred ground.
And for this wonderful experience we thank you once again.
