HOLY ORDERS

To be ordained as a Priest ‘tis a very tough life
No fortune, no family, no children, no wife
The young priest he bows with his face to the cross
and receives holy ordinance from the Bishop his boss!

We’ve a global shortage of priests, in the world of to-day
because the sons of most Catholics they no longer pray
The profession was tarnished by pedophile men
who molested our children again and again!

From out of the 3rd world comes a rash of new priests
from Africa, the Americas and from the Far East
Vows of abstinence and poverty and obedience to Rome
to young priests from the 3rd world our church is now home

The church lights in West Europe have all but gone out
The devil is at work, hear the blasphemers shout
But now in East Europe the church choirs sing
and the church bells of the East continue to ring

Holy Ordinance is sworn to by this group of new priests
from suffering under Communism, they now are released
And some say things will improve with this new German Pope?
A Hitler Youth, then ordained, with Faith, Charity and Hope!
