William H.A. Willbond MSM, CD: Being a Yes Man Pays

BEING A YES MAN PAYS

Oh happy days - for patronage ways
being a yes man, it really pays!
a thousand a day from foreign affairs
ya gotta thank the man upstairs

Being bought is very, very nice
Dither met Belinda's Liberal Price
Three Army generals who toed the line
on Civie Street they're doing fine!

'Twas political ways that ruined the CF
they left the Army in an awful mess
Each one was promised a high paying job
and it all started with Teflon Bob!

They were paid to look the other way
and told exactly what to say
rewards came in at the end of the day
in retirement they all rake in high pay!

Leadership. Leadership where art thou?
Army Service became a big cash cow
It is difficult to question the African ways
when patronage, adscams, and corruption pays!

Retired General not in Conflict over Mine Removal, says Ottawa

CanWest News Service: May 30, 2005

OTTAWA - The retired Canadian Forces general hired by the federal government to promote the Ottawa Convention on landmines sits on the hoard of a private company that sells equipment for removing mines.

Foreign Affairs said it is aware of Maurice Baril's position with Med-Eng Systems but sees no conflict of interest with his $1,000-a-day consulting work for the department.

Baril also denied his position with the Ottawa-based company puts hint in conflict because, he said, Foreign Affairs isn't involved in funding humanitarian de-mining projects.

"I know what the rules are and I know how to follow the rules." Baril said. "If there had been any kind of conflict of interest I would have followed the rules."
