AN ODE TO COUSIN RUSTY
I have a cousin named Rusty she lives down in the States
She is becoming a lawyer just from working on estates
Like my old drill sergeant she is always taking names
Adding them to her long list of WILLBOND family fame
I had red hair when I was young and Rusty, she had it too
My brother Barry had red hair a gene keeps coming through
The WILLBOND’S are a far flung bunch some live in NZ too
My old dad and all of his sons are part of the Irish crew
George Baines he was an Army bloke his service was terrific
He had fifteen kids and Rusty calls him: “GBW the prolific”
It certainly is a proper nick name for one who did his duty
And every child that he produced became a thing of beauty
Paula Willbond was Miss Victoria away back in the day
She has a son, he’s William and her daughter’s name is Shay
Rusty she keeps up the list – she writes the children down
Bob and I will go and visit her when we are in her town!
