ACHES AND PAINS AND ANKLE SPRAINS

Unloading 400 boxes for the kids overseas
Was hard on my back and my ankles and knees
I’ve a feeble mind and I can’t well relate
Why I slept in, and this morning, was late!

To bed at 3 a.m. – grinding out poems with PC and pen
Missed Old Bill Fisher’s funeral because I slept in
But I guess Old Machine Gun Bill he won’t mind
These ceremonies are mainly for us left behind!

Gulf Islands Director Mollie from Galiano
I met her and helped her unload
Matt from the Peninsula News came along
Upon a yellow motorcycle he rode

He took a few pictures of Mollie and me
And he took down some notes for Judy Remiche
Picking up boxes from Saanichton PO
Then back to the storage lockers I go

So when people say, how was your day?
I don’t like to answer just right away
I don’t want to sound like a moaning hound
Until the proper words of reply are found!
