A STICH IN TIME
(Ode to an ICROSS CANADA Izzy Comfort Doll knitter)

Meiko was a great lady, she has now gone to rest
At knitting Izzy comfort dolls, she was one of our best,
She brought smiles to the faces of little wee kids,
And she comforted suffering, that’s what she did

She eased suffering amongst the wee children of famine and war
And she sent love to where there was little or none before
At Saint Andrews she knitted those wee items of joy
That brought smiles to faces of village girls and boys
