WHAT IWVPA MEANS TO ME

I see the words of those who served
And I know of what they speak
Poems hit home, they blow my mind
They make my knees go weak

It is a way for me to say
Just what is in my heart
About the hidden secrets
That once tore my soul apart

I see that others suffer
I know they have been there
And poems open avenues
To show that others care

Buck and Subs and the Aussie Bard
wordsmiths who sometimes find it hard
To see the world in a peaceful light
Because they once went off to fight

The IWVPA is a wonderful way
For old guys like me to have their say
These poems speak of peace and war
Help heal PTSD – need I say more?
