John Carson
John Carson
“As the years pass on by and our comrades depart
We feel each LAST POST, a slight ache to the heart
At each memorial service our ranks they grow thin
We won’t see the likes of these old soldiers again”

“Behind me in the pay line was Rifleman Zurtch
And up at the front sure, Andy Aak he was first
The men in between, they now leave the scene
Back in the day they served Country and Queen”

“We’ll shine up our shoes and put our medals on-
And we’ll go to the church to say farewell to John-
Meeting old Riflemen from these ranks growing thin.
We say farewell JOHN CARSON until we meet again”
