SORRY JANICE!

My friend Les Peate’s a good poet I repeat
Telling the truth in terse verse that is neat
From the wearing of Friday’s Red
To the honour of Canada’s dead
He took issue with what Janice said!
She can’t have her cake
And she can’t eat it too!
When soldiers are dying for me and for you!
I have to agree with Les’s poetic retort
Janice you should reconsider our soldier’s support!

This poem is a supporting response to the poem, “Sorry Janice!” – ©Copyright October 27, 2007 by Les Peate

Author’s Note: Both poems are a response to Janice Kennedy, a “Citizen” writer, who states that she will no longer wear red in support of our troops as she disapproves of the Afghanistan mission.
