PLAYING AT WAR

Today on the video games children play at war.
Outside it’s bang, bang like it was once before.
However reality isn’t funny, it’s really not that way.
KIA’s[1] come home in body bags at the end of the day.

Children still play bang bang, and it glorifies war.
There’s not a difference from the rich to the poor.
Peacekeepers like Major Henwood had both legs blown away.
He had to fight like hell for his pension, from our own DVA[2].

Today I read the Times Colonist, I perused the comic page:
Little Boys were playing war they were such a young age.
What really struck home to me, before I read too far:
Soldiers play with live ammunition, oh how lucky we all are!
