I was raised a Catholic and we always believed it was true
That we had guardian angels, watching over me and you.
I felt this was true that there was something really there
As my parachute drifted to earth through the cold winter air.

All the close calls in life, near misses, cannot be explained.
Perhaps it was just a bit of good luck that I suffered less pain.
My grand daughter Shaelyn survived two serious heart surgeries.
Her guardian angel was there by her side during each of these.

When I was a young soldier, serving far away overseas
My Mom said the rosary each night, down on her knees.
She prayed my Guardian Angel would watch over me:
Her prayers were all answered as I am still here, you see.

“Saint Michael the Archangel defend us all in the day of battle”
Was a prayer our paratroopers said, high above the .30 Cal rattle.

As they drifted down to earth their guardian angels were there.
Do you agree with the survivors? Was it the power of their prayer?
