I have heard it said that nothing lasts
But to me that is just not true
Love within the human heart
Knows a boundless avenue

Soldiers who know a loving wife
have weathered the heavy storms
they express the diuturnity of life
together they have defeated strife

Lasting trust in a buddy’s skill
He’ll check my chute, I know he will
And when the time comes, for the fight
He’s got my six – he won’t take flight

These are the things that really last
The poems of olden days gone past
Of Kipling, Burns, and Robert Service
Odes of yore, their words inspire us!
