NOVEMBER THE 12TH IN VANCOUVER
(Inspired By Canadian Poet John-Ward Leighton)

The rain the rain oh what a pain
If this keeps up we’ll go insane!
A picture and poem about each Vancouver vet
Made my heart soar, lest we forget!

A bum sits in a Starbuck’s easy chair
As John strides forth in the rainy air
He sits warm and safe in his cosy den
As he surfs the net, he picks up his pen

John writes the words of peace and war
About folks whose names live forever more!
Watching a silver cross Mother laying her wreath
He saw the look on her face it was filled with grief

John Ward Leighton’s an inspiration to me
He’s a Canadian poet who knows poverty
Not a member of any group or organized flock
John supports AIDS ORPHANS – he walks the walk!

Author’s Note: Canadian Poet and Professional photographer John Ward Leighton is an old Army buddy of mine who supports ICROSS CANADA with monthly tithes for the suffering poor in Africa – he uses monies from his meagre, clawed back Army pension to help those less fortunate in the global village amongst the suffering poor on this battered and bleeding wee planet.
