BUREAUCRATS ARE THE CAUSE OF CRAPPY TREATMENT?

Some say our vets were crapped upon
from up on the head shed heights?
So now some lump summed veterans
live upon the mean streets at night?
Eating at soup kitchens they draw their rations
from charity run food banks
On welfare, drinking wine and doing drugs,
they need and deserve Canada’s thanks.

These are the guys with the 10-mile stare.
They really should not be living out there.
They get lump summed.
Then they fight with their family and separate from their wives.
Booze and drugs help to ease the pain
on their destructive downward drives.
Then in desperation to erase the evil demons
they sometimes take their own lives.

They should be screened and treated by
a series of Government Medical Shrinks?
Before being released without coping skill
to the world of stress, don’t you think?
Not all wounds are visible as my buddy Jim said
At times vets feel they’d be better off dead.
Rejecting wife and family, they blew the lump sum.
Now to the mean streets the vets they have come.

So let us give them a pension to support family and wife:
to help ease the tension in a wounded man’s life.
Do away with the NVC[1] because it really doesn’t work.
In fact it has really caused a whole lot of hurt.
To thank our wounded warriors the best way we can is
to amend the New Charter and to start a new plan.
Do not nickel and dime our wounded because you can see,
we want the best for them, in this land of the free.
