A FOND FAREWELL TO LADY PATRICIA
We were taught that Princess Pat was our first Colonel in Chief
And that she admired her soldiers of the red flag maple leaf!
Our current Colonel in Chief since nineteen seventy four
Lady Patricia has served our Regiment in both peace and war!
In two thousand and seven, 17th of March of this year
The PPCLI family will shed a sad farewell tear
Our Countess Mountbatten, who we all love so dear
Will step down to retirement to a loud Regimental Cheer!
We Patricias' are lucky, because now you see
Our new Colonel in Chief is our former G.G.!
Adrienne has some large combat boots to now fill
She will learn the Ric-a-dam-doo! We know that she will!
Farewell Lady Patricia! Know that you will be sorely missed!
But you are still at the top of our Christmas Card List!
You'll inspect us all again on that parade ground in the sky!
When we all meet again in the great by and by!
