VETERANS' DAY, 2003

Veterans Fought to keep us free
With Honor, Pride and Dignity;
To ensure all peoples destiny.
We will not suffer from tyranny.
Heroes each and every one;
They left families, friends and loved ones;
To face countless enemies and there were some
That never made that last trek home.
All gave some, Some gave all
But Americas military will not fall;
They go forward and stand tall.
World peace and safety the goal to install;
In every nation around the world,
Every American household with flags unfurled,
To ensure the rights and freedoms of every boy and girl.
Peace and Safety the cherished Pearl.
The horror and hardships will never fade
For all the heroes that God hath made.
That with an oath the choice they made
To stand tall in fear, orders given, orders obeyed.
Families share in pride and fear
Shedding always countless tears
As gone our loved ones, sometimes for years,
Their lives and memories we hold so dear.
Heroes they are, past and present,
Someday let war become non-existent.
The lives God made a glorious present,
To endanger one we should remain hesitant.
No more need for walls to honor our dead.
No more horrible memories to haunt the head.
War and hatred, words no longer said.
Just Prayers of thanks uttered at days end.
Thank You, American Veterans
Thank You All Veterans
Thank You Military Families
May the pain of war end soon; never to be felt again.
