BLUE STAR MOTHERS NATIONAL
A Blue Star Mother whose heart grows cold
Is presented a banner, blue star, now gold.
The Ultimate Sacrifice has been paid in full
By another brave hero the bell doth toll.
We hear the toll, we shed millions of tears,
We raised those heroes throughout the years.
The memories remain in minds and hearts,
A life though gone, yet forgotten NOT!
No one wants a banner that shows that Gold Star;
We're ever so willing to view it from afar.
We share pride in those blue banners
With our Honor and Respect in all manners;
They represent a loved one serving this nation,
Which God so planned as His creation.
We cherish our Blue Star Banners every day;
We dread a Gold Star Banner in every way.
We respect and honor Blue Star or Gold
The pain both represent is untold.
We're proud yet we fear what may come to be,
Though our fondest prayers are Peace and Liberty.
We pray for the few, the proud and the brave,
Hoping they return safely to the homes whence they came.
Truest heroes they all are, doing jobs in such harm;
Return to all Military family's open arms.
Every soldier, sailor, airman, coasty, and marine,
Remember please, that we all bleed green?
Together we're bound by a star of true blue
Proud families we are to all who are true,
To the U.S. Armed Forces so strong and surreal;
Let's all show our support and swallow our fear.
May all Blue Star Banners remain as they are;
I pray not another be presented a Gold Star.
