Charles L. Weatherford

Many are the arts,
and arts are simply this;
a form of anything,
used, that is, to express.

A drawing or a sketch,
a painting, a masterpiece,
a song, a poem, a mind,
things used to be.

Look deep. Look shallow.
Look on and through.
See tomorrow through yesterday,
and yesterday too.

Yesterday is lonely.
Lonely always will he be,
and tomorrow will never come,
for today will always be.

Today comes again
at the midnight chime.
Tomorrow is forever in the future,
and forever is a long, long time.
