SAND MEDITATION

Gently raking sand,
peaceful thoughts in quiet mind,
smoothing the surface.
Placid satisfaction felt
on a serene job well done.

He puts down the rake,
leaving it for the next time.
He picks up his clubs,
Seeing his ball in the sand
on the far side of the green.

Sand wedge in his hand,
he swings and hacks the ball out,
disturbing the sand.
It bounces across the green
rolling into the sand trap.

Gently raking sand,
peaceful thoughts in quiet mind,
smoothing the surface.
Placid satisfaction felt
on a serene job well done.
