Edward L. Vanvickle
“Ed”

Edward L. VanVickle was born in Chanute, Kansas and now resides in Emporia, Kansas. He joined the US Army in January of 1988 and served with Charlie Company 1st Battalion 504th PIR (Parachute Infantry Regiment) 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg N.C. and Bravo Company, 3rd Battalion 325th AIR (Airborne Infantry Regiment ABCT (Airborne Combat Team)) in Vicenza, Italy.

Mr. VanVickle served 12 years on active duty before leaving the Army in September of 1999 and has since been very active in Veterans Affairs. He is now employed by the State of Kansas as a Local Veterans Employment Representative. He serves as many Commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart of the USA, Timmerman Chapter 648 in Emporia, Kansas. He is Senior Vice-Commander of VFW Lowry Funston Post 1980 also in Emporia, and is also an avid follower of news for the Airborne units left in the Army.
