NIGHT LIFE

I lived the night for twenty hours
I lived the day for four
No time awake to smell the flowers
While passed out on the floor

I need more hours in the night
I don’t care if there’s ever day
Those city lights are fire bright
When you stumble to find your way

When the dew is on the leaves
When there is moisture in the air
That cool early morning breeze
Changes the true color of your hair

Bring another night to me
Wake me the hour after day
Let the long night set me free
City lights will show me the way
