LYNN

A beautiful lady-in-waiting was Lynn
She once served Queen Anne Boleyn
On Sundays they took the royal coach for a spin
But by night she had the Queen back again

The Queen asked the maiden Lynn one day
To prepare a bath of Oil of Olay
She tried, but alas, the oil wouldn’t stay
So she used cod oil, prescribed by Dr. Bombay

The Queen had a liking for Lynn’s new bath
The fragrance was fetching for all royal cats
It was Henry who developed hatred and wrath
For Lynn’s new unconventional bath

He said, “The Queen is too slick to hold court on the fifth”
“Perhaps this new bath should be given the ditch”
But some days after the Queen developed and itch
That is when the maiden Lynn decided to switch

Now she sells cockles and muscles and essence of cod
The streets of London and Hampton she’ll trod
Singing “buy cockles and muscles and essence of cod”
“Use what you will and dump the rest in the sod”
