The dog that they named Dutch
He lived his life for Uncle Sam
He didn’t ask for much

He was loyal to a fault
To his handler they called Dave
He took his job with a grain of salt
And lead Dave into caves

He alerted his platoon
To danger on patrols
It didn’t matter night or noon
He saved many hapless souls

Sadly when Dave’s tour had ended
Dutch’s army life ended too
Scout dogs only tended
One master from scout dog school
