SPEAKING OF PEACE

My gentle warriors…
in poets’ apparel…
thy words honed like a knife
Need I remind you of the strife
that lies on the road
to a lesser load…
of the tears and cares
cast upon he who would
taunt his wares
of peaceful doves
before the wary wolves
Approach them… my friend…
with pen in hand
… so steady
and with your swords
at the ready…
