HEDGEROW

Movement
ever so slight
muted sounds
in the night
Still so alert
is my plight
Among the jasmine
and mighty oaks
lurk my demons
in their drab cloaks
Dark demons
in the night
are still
a regular sight
Though time
has slipped away
I cannot forget
the day
that the demons
came to stay
and peace of mind
went away
