Faye Sizemore

Faye Sizemore: Desert WarriorBurning sands
And spiraled towers
Mosques where the faithful
Prayed for hours

Sworn by oath to take a stand
In a foreign land
Where thanks were few
And his boots filled with sand

It has been a few years
Since he was there
And that war was his main care
The time has passed slowly or not at all

Each minute like earthbound parachutes…
Caught forever in desert time
And present mornings can find him…
Still trying to shake the sand from his boots…
