I can’t go home anymore
I’ve become an animal
Lost in the heat of war

He came through the brush
He was taking his time, no rush
I shot him full in the chest
Killing is what I do best
A surprised look was on his face
as he left this time and space
Walking over to where his body lay
I felt no pity he had died this way
Dipping my fingers into his blood
In my heart a rushing warm flood
Drawing them full across my face
I slipped into the jungle without a trace
Craving for more death in another place

I can’t go home anymore
For I am just an animal
Raging to the heat of war
