I have had for a long time,
Something to say
Why it took me so long
Just blame it on age
I was just a small child when this nasty thing happened
they called it war
Now I sit here, wondering how to say
what has been in my heart
I have been reading poems
that depicted that awful place
the things you seen, the pain you felt
The friendships you made
The friendships you lost
I wish there was a way to explain how I feel
There is NO way for us to know
what you went through and the loses you gained
The nightmares, the sweats, the images you see
Afraid to go to sleep (not wanting to be awake)
There is so much to say to you
So many emotions
The only way I know to tell you what's in my heart
To All Vietnam Vets
Those who died
Those who came home
