MOTHER EARTH
(For the Missing)

Don’t think of him
dying in the leaves –
all alone
Think of arms
reaching out
to welcome him home.
Mother Nature’s strong arms
clasp him close to her heart –
he is resting
he is nestling –
not alone, or apart.
His battle is over:
all suffering is done.
One Mother shares
with the Other, her son.
One journey completed –
another begun.
