flags waving.

In caskets draped
in flags, some come home.

Some children
hug their moms and dads
who have come home

But some children
are left a folded flag
and stand alone.

Some flags flutter
and some flags cover
loved ones who won’t come
home, ever

These children are
branded
with the Stars and Stripes
Forever.
