A LOVE WITHOUT END

A childhood filled with magical days
Sisters more like best friends
Secrets told in bedrooms shared
A father’s love without end

King on the hill on the cellar doors
Hide and seek by the buttonwood tree
Clinging to the rope on a tire swing
Like an eagle we would soar

Sitting beside the rock of my life
The man with the work worn hands
Sharing a hymnal and learning to sing
The wonderful songs of Beulah Land

Breaking the rules and breaking a heart
The heart of the man who adored
His wife and daughters and only son
And most of all his Lord

Always a home to return to
No matter the mistakes we made
Unconditional love in every way
A love that will never fade

The home no longer stands
The man has crossed to the other side
But the memories live forever in minds
And his unconditional love will never die

It’s a lonely world without our dad
But we smile through the tears in our eyes
Someday we’ll join with the dad we adore
In our Heavenly home in the skies
