THE TRY

I do what I can do
And try to keep my spirit bright
I go out in this world
And try to do what I think right

I haven’t made a difference
And that’s one of my regrets
Lost too much time and money
Placing lots of losing bets

It is about the doing
And it is about the try
I’ve got to keep on going
Even though I’m not sure why

My hope is when you look upon
Your list of what went wrong
That you didn’t sing another’s tune
And always sang your song
