THE PRIZE

My heart says it has had enough
My body says ‘no more’
But I know I must keep swimming
For I haven’t reached the shore

The sea says I won’t make it
As I beg to disagree
Before me lies the beach
And there’s no quitting left in me

The waves just keep on coming
They don’t know they lift me up
I know upon that shoreline
I will find His loving cup

This storm will not prevail
No matter how the wind may rise
For I can see Him waiting
And I know He is the prize
