THE JOURNEY

I know my time is ending
And it is a simple truth
But I have known such wonders
In this journey from my youth

This world is filled with many things
Some pleasant to my sight
And yet along the way I’ve seen
Too much of what’s not right

Can’t say I’ve made a difference
But at times I stood my ground
And tried to make things better
With so much of wrong I found

But is that not our purpose
To beat back the angry night
Perhaps it’s just the fool in me
That loves a righteous fight
