THE DRIFTER

I’ve drifted many places
And a few of I know too well
Some filled with light and laughter
And some filled with darkened hell

This life can be a battle
Never sure what you will see
I’ve been a moving target
Knowing it was best for me

I’ve walked into some valleys
That have never felt the sun
I’ve walked into some alleys
Where you do what must be done

Been down too many hallways
That lead only to the night
And stumbled into rooms
Where there was nothing but the fight

Still it is about the journey
And the places where you go
So I will keep on drifting
Going where I do not know
