Towards the sunset lies the journey
From the first dawn that we know
As each one is granted passage
Knowing not how far we go

Some get a lengthy road to walk
For some too brief and bare
I learned so long ago that life
So often isn’t fair

From that morning of first rising
Till the final setting sun
I still try to do Him honor
In this race that I must run

I know I made a mess of things
Got lost along the way
Still headed for that sunset
Knowing there is hell to pay
