Russell G. Robison

(To the tune “Independence Day” by Martina McBride)

Now I still walk tall,
for my heart’s not small
All I’ve ever known is being free
You will never know,
where I’ve had to go

In the fire I found out who is me
Now I do not know
where my heart will go
There is only one I let command

Each and every day,
all that I can say
Is that He’s the one who helps me stand
In a world of pain,
what is there to gain

But to rise up and to carry on
If I must fight each day
I am here to say
I will fight until the day I’m gone
Though the road is long,
I can still walk strong

I have wings that let me kiss the sky
When some days I’m weak, there is one I seek
He’s the one who taught me how to fly
