OLD WOUNDS

On an angry night I cried
My God you ask so much
Then came a silence so profound
I’ve learned to be His touch

I am here inside your heart
Why is such trouble here
Have I not taught you anything
Surrender now your fear

I see your old wounds fester
From the madness of the fight
But this darkness cannot prosper
When you stand inside my light

You cannot hear my whisper child
When all you do is shout
Just love with all your heart
For that is what this life’s about
