MOMMA THOUGHTS

Wish you had known my momma
For she was a sight to see
A giant, all of five feet tall
Who taught me how to see

A killer in the classroom
When it came to ‘get it right’
Made sure I knew the way when
It was time to make my flight

An anchor in the storm for me
A shelter from the rain
And she knew all the magic words
To take away my pain

She could be kind and gentle,
She could be tough and strong
And she’s the one who taught me
What was right and what was wrong
