My mother was a Catholic,
My dad was Church of Christ
Its funny how both churches
Didn’t want their union spliced

The elders at my dad’s church said
How could you bring her here
The Catholics called us bastards
And they made that very clear

In time they both got sick of it
As neither side had love
So mom became out teacher on
Who lived up there above

No matter which church that we tried
We always got that look
It seems both sides forgot about
The message in the Book
