GETTING OLD

I’m getting these reminders
Of how old I’ve come to be
Each day my body’s pointing out
Just what is left of me

Fatigue is my companion
He is found in every stride
The mirrors still reflecting
Just an old man and his pride

Not much to show for all the years
And some were not that kind
But life will leave some marks on those
Who face the daily grind

That’s just the way of things I’m told
We’re all just passing through
You walk the line and pay the fine
What more now can you do
