We let the children hunger
In a world of so much need
Intent on going somewhere
Are we driven by our greed?

Indeed I’m not a wise man
Nor do I pretend to be
But neither am I blind
And there are things that I can see

We’re captured by the circle
Never getting anywhere
Why can’t we make a breakout
And become a world of care?

How do we face the mirror
When we know what must be done
And what will be our answer
On that day we face the Son

Some say that it’s too late
And just the nature of the beast
How can we celebrate when
They have never known a feast

The least of us remains a test
Can we not make the grade?
Are not we all the children
Of the sacrifice He Made?
