I’ve tried to tell their tale so often,
Always tried to tell it true
Yet I am nothing more or less
Than just another delta ‘blue’

I’m sad I cannot tell their story
So many words I do not know
I wish you could have seen their shining

From those dreams that still awaken
I recall the pain and pride
